Asset tracking for equipment rental companies

Last updated:

Rental companies use Hirro to answer three questions without walking the yard: where is the machine or attachment for the next order, did everything come back from the last hire, and what is ready to rent. Tags on machines and attachments and staff phones on the yard keep the answers current. Gateways at the gate and wash bay are an option where a stage should log itself.

The dispatcher searches for the machine and its attachments and gets a zone for each one. Yard staff walk to the zone and follow the radar to the asset. A vehicle gateway on the low loader records which attachments left with which machine.

When a contract ends, Hirro shows what came back through the gate and what is still out. An attachment that left with a machine but did not come back with it is flagged. Condition photos taken in the app are stored on the asset’s record.

How does Hirro show what is ready to rent?

Section titled “How does Hirro show what is ready to rent?”

Each asset carries a stage: returned, washed, checked or ready. With site gateways at the wash bay and workshop, stages update as machines pass through, and you see how long they wait in each one. See Setting up zones and stages.

Hirro counts the days each machine spends out on rent, so service intervals can follow rental use instead of the calendar. The workshop logs each service on the asset from a phone, sees what is due this week, and gets a flag when a machine wears faster than the rest. Certificates sit on the asset with a reminder before they expire. See Digital twin and maintenance.

Yes. Each tag links to the item in your asset register, and zones, stages and sightings flow back to the ERP. See ERP and exports.
