What is Hirro?
Last updated:
Hirro is asset tracking software for equipment rental companies and contractors. A tag on each machine, attachment or tool is heard by the phones your staff already carry, so you need no gateways or beacons to start. Hirro places every asset in a named zone of your site, logs its stage and keeps a digital twin of each asset. Gateways and 4G live trackers are optional add-ons.
What problem does Hirro solve?
Section titled “What problem does Hirro solve?”A yard changes every hour, but the asset register changes only when someone has time to update it. Hirro keeps the register in step with the yard. Each time a tag is heard, the asset’s zone, stage and last sighting update, so nobody has to count, fill in a form or walk the rows to find a bucket.
Who is Hirro for?
Section titled “Who is Hirro for?”Hirro is built for equipment rental companies and contractors with one or more depots, yards or sites. The people who use it most are:
| Role | What they use Hirro for |
|---|---|
| Plant manager or operations director | A register that matches the yard, and turnaround per stage |
| Dispatcher or yard coordinator | Finding the right machine and attachments before a truck leaves |
| Yard and workshop staff | Searching for an asset and following the radar to it |
| IT lead | Linking assets to the ERP, privacy settings, the API and the MCP server |
| Finance or fleet director | Knowing which attachments left with which machine |
What does a Hirro setup include?
Section titled “What does a Hirro setup include?”Every setup has three parts: tags on the assets, something that hears them, and the Hirro software.
- Tags. A Standard, Rugged or Mini tag on each asset. See Tag lineup.
- Listeners. Staff phones with the Hirro app do the reading. Where you need more, add site gateways at fixed points, vehicle gateways on trucks, or live trackers on units that travel alone. See Tracking methods.
- Software. The web dashboard and the phone app, a digital twin per asset for usage and maintenance, and links to your ERP, an API and an MCP server for AI assistants. See Integrations.
What does it cost to start?
Section titled “What does it cost to start?”Little hardware. Tags go on the assets, and the phones your staff already carry do the reading, so there are no gates or beacons to install before the first count. Software is priced per site with public prices. See Plans, and work out your own case with the yard cost calculator on hirro.eu.
Where do I start?
Section titled “Where do I start?”Read How Hirro works for the full picture, then the Quickstart to set up your first site. Most teams start on one yard with tags and staff phones only, and add gateways later where a stage should log itself.
Who makes Hirro?
Section titled “Who makes Hirro?”Hirro is a Rotion company from Antwerp, Belgium, and a brand of CAUSA SUI BV, the company behind Rotion. Rotion has built tracking software for reusable assets since 2021, and Hirro applies that platform to machines, attachments and tools in equipment rental and construction. Your data is stored in the European Union. See Security and privacy.
