Parent and child: which attachment left with which machine
Last updated:
Parent and child links an attachment to the machine or truck it travels with. A vehicle gateway on a truck, or a live tracker on a machine, hears the tags on the attachments near it. Hirro records the vehicle as the parent and each attachment as a child, so you know what left the yard together and what came back.
Why does parent and child matter?
Section titled “Why does parent and child matter?”Attachments are small, valuable and easy to lose track of. When a breaker leaves on a low loader with an excavator and does not come back with it, the register usually finds out weeks later. With parent and child, Hirro records which attachments left with which vehicle and flags an attachment that did not return with its parent.
How is a parent set up?
Section titled “How is a parent set up?”Fit a vehicle gateway in the truck or carrier, wired to the vehicle’s power, or fit a live tracker on the machine. Link it to the vehicle in Hirro. From then on, every tag it hears while driving is recorded as riding with that vehicle.
What does it show in Hirro?
