Digital twin and maintenance
Last updated:
Each tag gives a machine, attachment or tool a digital twin in Hirro: one record that collects every sighting, move, rental and service. Where the asset is comes first, but the twin also holds how it was used, what the workshop did to it, what is due next and which certificates it carries. Maintenance and planning then work from that history instead of from memory.
What is on an asset’s digital twin?
Section titled “What is on an asset’s digital twin?”| Part | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Usage ledger | Zones, stages, trips and rentals on one timeline, with days out on rent and time spent in each stage |
| Maintenance log | Each service, repair and part, logged on the asset from a phone next to it |
| Maintenance planning | Service intervals in days or in rental use, with what is due and what is overdue |
| Wear flags | Assets that wear faster than the rest of the fleet |
| Documents | Inspection reports, manuals and certificates, with a reminder before one expires |
The twin builds on the asset passport in the phone app: the passport shows where the asset is now, and the twin keeps everything that happened to it.
How does the usage ledger fill itself?
Section titled “How does the usage ledger fill itself?”Every time a phone, gateway or tracker hears the asset’s tag, Hirro adds the sighting to the timeline. Zone changes, stage changes, trips with a vehicle and departures on a contract appear as events. Nobody types them in, so the ledger is as complete as the sightings behind it.
How does the workshop log a service?
Section titled “How does the workshop log a service?”The mechanic opens the asset in the phone app, next to the machine, and logs the service, repair or part. The entry lands on the twin with the date. The next service on the plan moves to its new due date.
How does maintenance planning work?
Section titled “How does maintenance planning work?”Set an interval per asset or per type, in days or in rental use, for example a service every 30 rental days. Hirro counts the days out on rent from the usage ledger and lists what is due this week and what is overdue, per site and per workshop.
What is predictive maintenance in Hirro?
Section titled “What is predictive maintenance in Hirro?”Hirro learns how each asset is used and compares it with the rest of the fleet. When an asset wears faster than similar ones, for example because it goes out on rent more often or comes back to the workshop sooner, Hirro flags it so the workshop can plan the service before it stops a job. You decide what to do with each flag.
Which documents can I keep on the twin?
Section titled “Which documents can I keep on the twin?”Inspection reports, lifting certificates, manuals and other files. Give a document an expiry date and Hirro reminds you before it runs out, so a machine with an expired certificate does not leave the yard by mistake.
