Working next to telematics
Last updated:
Hirro works next to the telematics on your machines. Keep the units you have: Hirro reads their data and adds what they do not cover, which is the zone on your yard, the stage in the turnaround and the attachments that travel with each machine. You can also replace them over time with Hirro hardware.
What does telematics miss that Hirro adds?
Section titled “What does telematics miss that Hirro adds?”Telematics units on powered machines report GPS position, engine hours and fault codes. They usually do not see unpowered attachments, tools or containers, and a GPS position on a yard says little about which row a machine stands in.
| Telematics on machines | Hirro | |
|---|---|---|
| Powered machines | Yes | Yes |
| Attachments, tools, containers | Rarely | Yes |
| Position on the yard | GPS point | Named zone |
| Stage in the turnaround | No | Yes |
| Which attachment rode with which machine | No | Yes |
Can I switch from my current tracking contract?
Section titled “Can I switch from my current tracking contract?”Yes. If you are leaving another tracking contract, the months left on it come off the Hirro licence, up to 12 months. The credit applies to the licence, not to hardware. See the switch offer on hirro.eu.
