# MCP server for AI assistants

> The Hirro MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot answer questions from your live inventory, without opening Hirro.

Last updated: 2026-11-06

The Hirro MCP server connects AI assistants to your live inventory. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot connect to other software. Once it is connected, staff ask where an asset is, what has been idle or what is still out on site, in the chat they already use.

:::note
This page describes what the MCP server does. The list of tools and the connection details follow once the specification is published.
:::

## What can I ask?

| Question | Answer comes from |
|---|---|
| Where is breaker BR-1180? | The asset's zone, stage and last sighting |
| Which attachments are on site Lokeren? | The site's asset list |
| What has been idle for two weeks? | Last movement per asset |
| What is still out from last week's contract? | Departures and returns |

The examples use fictional assets and sites.

## How does an assistant connect?

Add Hirro as a connector in your assistant and sign in with your Hirro account. The assistant then sees the same assets and sites your account can see in Hirro, and nothing more.

## Can an assistant change data in Hirro?

The MCP server reads your inventory. Changes, such as moving an asset to another stage, stay in the Hirro app and dashboard.

## Which plan includes the MCP server?

The MCP server is part of the Operate, Scale and Enterprise plans. See [Plans](/reference/plans/).
